Zülfü Livaneli is one of the most popular artists in Turkey: a musician, film director, author and an important voice in political life. Livaneli is a bridge builder between East and West. The documentary about Zülfü Livaneli’s life and work starts at Taksim Square right in the heart of Istanbul. The film is a mixture of concerts, interviews with friends and companions, and a homestory of the artist. |

Directors ORHAN ÇALIŞIR, CENGİZ KÜLTÜR and DIRK MEISSNER
Orhan Çalışır (1963) has been living in Germany since 1982. He entered the field of journalism after graduating from university. Between 1997 – 1998 he did a course in radio journalism. Since then he has been working as a free-lance journalist for the state-owned German radios (ARD) and since 1998 as a documentary maker as well. He makes both interviews and documentaries of different lengths for different TV channels. Cengiz Kültür 1970) has been living in Germany since 1979. After completing his vocational training at the Vulkan Shipyard in Bremen, he did a professional training course for cameramen between 1998 – 2000. Having started his career as an assistant cameraman, he became a cameraman in 2001. He mostly works for the German state-owned radio and TV channel ARD, mainly in the field of news reports and documentaries. Dirk Meißner (Bonn, 1972), between 1997-1999, after graduating from university, specialized in journalism at various TV and radio channels, as well as journalism schools. In 2000, upon completion of his professional training at different media institutions, he started working for Bremen Radio and Television. Currently he is mainly active as an electronic book publisher and trainer while still producing documentaries of different lengths for the channels ARD and NDR.
