We are proud to present this year our seventh Boston Turkish Film Festival Award for Excellence in Turkish Cinema to Director Erden Kıral, in recognition of his contributions to Turkish cinema.

An Award Ceremony will take place following the North America premiere of Erden Kıral’s latest film, "Load" (Yük) on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., at Remis Auditorium of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

A discussion session with the director will also follow the film screening.

Director and Producer

Born in 1942, Erden Kıral studied ceramics at the Istanbul Academy of Arts. He published the film periodicals Gerçek Sinema and Çağdaş Sinema, was editor of the magazine Güney, and has written about film for the newspaper Vatan and magazine 7. Sanat. During his career, in addition to five short films, he has made eight features and a television series of 70 episodes. He has been a member of Akademie der Künste located in Berlin since 1984.
