Director DENİZ TELEK

Deniz Telek graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Istanbul University with BA and MA, and the Department of Cinema at Marmara University with Phd degrees. He graduated from the Pantomime department of the same university's State Conservatory. As an Erasmus student, he attended lectures like "Film Adaptations from Polish Literature" and "Audiovisual Workshop: Krzystof Kieslowski and his films" at Warsaw University. His first short film, “The Gentle Sadness of Things", won awards in many international and national festivals, including the 38th Istanbul Film Festival FIPRESCI award. He was one of the 10 directors in the workshop: Film Directing With Bela Tarr, organized by the Antalya Film Forum in 2018. He shot his second short film "Tractatus" under the mentorship of Bela Tarr. In 2019, he was one of the participants of the 13th Talents Sarejevo Film Festival. He is still working as Assistant Professor in the department of Visual Communication Design at Hasan Kalyoncu University.
