Boston Turkish Film Festival Award for Excellence in Turkish Cinema

Boston Turkish Film Festival is proud to add another milestone to the Festival by initiating in 2007 the Boston Turkish Film Festival Award for Excellence in Turkish Cinema, a first in North America in the Turkish film festivals. 

Boston Turkish Film Festival Award for Excellence in Turkish Cinema is presented every year as a part of the annual Boston Turkish Film Festival. 

Recipients of the Boston Turkish Film Festival Excellence in Turkish Cinema Award:

2008 : DIRECTOR REHA ERDEM

The 2008 Award was presented to director, filmmaker REHA ERDEM, in recognition of his contributions to Turkish cinema.  Director Reha Erdem was present at the award ceremony which took place on the closing night of the festival, on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, preceding the screening of his internationally acclaimed and award-winning film Times and Winds (Bes Vakit).

2007 : DIRECTOR ZEKI DEMIRKUBUZ

The 2007 Award was presented to director, filmmaker Zeki Demirkubuz, in recognition of his contributions to the Turkish cinema. Director Demirkubuz was present at the award ceremony on April 1, 2007, which took place at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, preceding the North America premiere of his film Destiny (Kader).
