The Next One | Siradaki

Umut works in the family-owned auto-repair show with his father and older brother. He wins the university exam but his father prevents him from going to school. Umut, however, rather than meeting the expectations of his family and the society wants to live his life his own way.

Gunduz Sevdi

Gündüz Sevdi (Diyarbakır, 1982) graduated from Beykent University Department of Cinema and Television in Istanbul. He finished his short film, “DEM”, which he wrote and directed in 2015.

Red Light France is Good | Kirmizi Isik Fransa Cok Guzel

The documentary observes a day of three Roman women who live in a suburb of Toulouse in caravans, earning their living by washing car windows at red lights, and hanging to life by their joyful songs. The film draws attention to the conditions of Roman minorities in France.

Director YASEMİN AKINCI

Yasemin AkinciYasemin Akıncı (Istanbul, 1987), after graduating from Galatasaray University Faculty of Communications Department of Cinema, started studying at ESAV Cinema School in Toulouse, France where she graduated in 2013 with a degree in cinematography. Her previous film was Ax û Av / Kerpiçten Hayaller (57 min., 2014).

 

The Well | Kuyu

Ali begins to build a well to deal with the problem of accessing water in the village. The village is on barren and arid land. Due to lack of stones nearby, people of the village all contribute their time to bring stones to Ali. One day, he finds out about the death of his brother. Ali, who now has to marry his pregnant sister-in-law to abide by the tradition, reveals his deepest secret to the well.

Director SELMAN NACAR

Selman NacarSelman Nacar (Uşak, 1990) began his university education at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Law. Wishing to pursue his passion for cinema professionally, he was accepted to Bilgi University’s Cinema Department with a scholarship. He recently graduated from law school and started the last year of his cinema education. He has carried out the roles of director and screenwriter in a number of short movies.
