A man has committed murder and is therefore hiding in a mine. Zeynep, the leading female protagonist, is the common denominator of the story, in which the director explores the psychologies of two men: Cemal, who regrets having committed a murder, and Cumali, who is pursuing the murderer in order to kill him yet is scared to do so. Zeynep is currently married to Cemal, but some years earlier she had a passionate love affair with Cumali, who was married and had a child. The story is told through flashbacks and hallucinations, mirroring the psychological states of the characters in the film. Past and present are interwoven, as is reality and illusion.

Director's Statement

"This is a real life story. The story of a man who committed murder and hiding in a mine...

At the center of this story, which is weaved around the remorse of the murderer, and the fears of the man who is after him for revenge, is a woman named Zeynep. In the film I used flashbacks and halucinations; just like the waving emotions of the characters in the film... The film shows the present and the past, the reality and the delusions.

When Cemal, who committed the murder and in hiding, builds up so much fear which eventually becomes his courage instead, asks his vindictive to kill him, but the other "can not" do it. In the end, Cemal cannot carry this load any longer and disappears into the depth of the soil. What remains is a man left with no aim and nothing to go after, and a woman who is paralyzed by emotions and building fences against her old lover.

The cast of the film, except five professional actors, are all miners and their families who live in that town.

The mine, where the workers in extraordinarily difficult and fatal conditions, is almost a theatre stage." -- Director Erden KIRAL
