SYNOPSIS
“IN OUT” is about a Turkish filmmaker participating in a documentary project organized in Europe, and her story of probation and deportation at the landborders of Serbia and Bulgaria. The documentary consisting of three main parts visualizes the concept of border and aims to raise questions about the various kinds of citizenship status and the procedures conducted during the border transitions between countries.

Born in 1985 in İzmir, Turkey, Zeynep Merve Uygun received her BA in English Language and Literature Department of Boğaziçi University, and her MA in Film and Television Department of Bilgi University. She worked as a producer, editor and assistant director in many TV programs between 2007-2010. She has taken part in short film and documentary projects. She is contributing to various film magazines such as Film Arası and Hayal Perdesi. She is currently a research assistant in the Department of Cinema and Television of Istanbul Şehir University. Her selected filmography as director are; “In Out” (documentary, 2011), “Cinemakinist” (documentary, 2010), “Dün Burdaydı” (Yesterday, was here, documentary, 2009), “The Secret” (with Esra Çimencioğlu, short, 2009), “Oyun” (short, 2008).
