Singer Bülent Güneralp, guitarist Bilgehan Tuncer and pianist Eunyoung Kim will present a vibrant and engaging spring concert with selections from authentic Turkish folk music, spirituals, art song, opera, Broadway, American Songbook and solo piano repertoire.

Described by the Times Herald-Record, Middletown, New York as a firm bass-baritone, Bülent Güneralp is a versatile singer with international credits who has performed as soloist in many productions with prominent organizations. He is equally at home in diverse genres from opera to Broadway, spirituals to American Songbook. In January 2009 he received the Omaggio al Bel Canto Best Interpretation Award at the Stelle dell'Anno Nuovo Festival in Boston, which was aired on Italy's RAI International TV. In March 2009 he was recognized by the Massachusetts State Senate with a citation, by Thomas Menino with a certificate, and a Bandwidth TV feature program about his career premiered on Cambridge Community TV to be aired on several channels in Boston. In May 2009 he gave a performance at the historic USS Salem in the first-ever maritime festival of Quincy, Massachusetts. Mr. Güneralp is also a drummer who performs in diverse genres from jazz to rock. He played drums and percussion in the Istanbul City Theaters Orchestra under the direction of conductor Onder Bali. Also a pianist, Mr. Güneralp is starting to present his first solo concerts in Boston, which will present mostly the American Songbook and the musical theater repertoire with a special emphasis on Richard Rodgers' compositions. He maintains private teaching studios, also is on the faculty at Quincy Point Music Academy as Voice, Piano and Drums Instructor. Mr. Güneralp's website is


Bilgehan Tuncer has been playing guitar for 22 years. He studied under renowned classical guitar artist Ahmet Kanneci for six years and he has performed many classical recitals. As a session player his credentials include recording #1 hit songs and touring with internationally famous Turkish singer Tarkan, as well as playing live and recording in many acts ranging from jazz to classical, country to blues, rock, folk to alternative and jingles, soundtracks.

He was the guitar player for the band for the rock musical "David - the Musical" that was staged at Calderwood Pavilion at BCA. In 1997 he won the first prize in the national guitar competition that was held by Z.M.M and Washburn guitar Inc. in Turkey. In 1998 he won a B.E.S.T. scholarship from Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston where he teaches and performs regularly. Besides his solo shows, some local bands he plays as a sideman in Boston are Jordan Carp, John Denley, Sarah Fimm, Seatbelts for Rain. He holds a B.S in Chemical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, and B.M. in Guitar Performance from Berklee College of Music. EUNYOUNG KIM (pianist)

Eunyoung Kim began playing piano at the age of four, gave her first piano recital at age six, and in the same year won the national piano competition organized by The Korean Music & Art Society in Seoul. At age 15 she began studying with pianist Ha-Kyung Kim at the Sun-Hwa Arts High School in Korea. She won numerous piano competitions in Korea including the prestigious Sam-Ik Piano Competition and studied at the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul with Jong-Pil Lim, Kyung-Sook Lee, Dae-Jin Kim and Choong-Mo Kang on a scholarship from the Korean Government given to the top students of the music department. After graduating, she served as the director and a piano & music theory instructor at Bon Music Academy in Seoul.

Ms. Kim continued her studies in the United States at Boston University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance in 2003. In that same year she was selected as a member of the American National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda. She furthered her studies at Longy School of Music with Victor Rosenbaum, Robert Merfeld, Wayman Chin, and Jonathan Cohler; and in 2006 received a Graduate Performance Diploma in both Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano Performance with distinction.

After graduation from Longy, Ms. Kim performed as a soloist at the New Hampshire Music Festival, in addition to premiering new solo and chamber works of Koray Sazli, Caglar Arsu, Mark Berger, Mauricio Pauly and Gorge Grossman. She also performed at the Kendal Music Series as a soloist, as well as in Nagoya, Japan with organization, International Soroptimist. Ms. Kim was awarded prizes in both 2005 and 2006 in the International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition, and also in 2008 she was awarded the second prize in the Hugo Kauder International Piano Competition, and the Glady Cauthen Award from the International Beethoven Sonata Competition in Memphis in 2009.

Eunyoung Kim continues to be actively performing throughout the greater Boston area as a member of International Contemporary Music Ensemble Musica Anatolia, the Xanthos Ensemble, The Fifth Tier New Music Ensemble, and Duo group, La Scena. As a soloist and a chamber musician, Ms Kim is engaged in many different concerts in Boston, NYC, Seoul, and Istanbul for the 2007-2010 concert season.
