Salih Memecan is a prominent Turkish cartoonist. Memecan's daily agenda includes a political cartoon strip, Bizimcity, on the front page, and a comics cartoon strip, Sizinkiler, on the back page of the daily Sabah newspaper. The animated version of Bizimcity is aired daily on the prime-time news program on ATV. Memecan also submits weekly cartoons to Sabah newspaper on global issues. He created his cartoon strip Sizinkiler 15 years ago. Today, it has become the most popular cartoon strip in Turkey with over 1.5 million books sold. Salih Memecan received his Ph.D. in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Fullbright Scholar (1983). His BA and MA degrees in architecture are from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
